my role

During my time at UiPath, I acted as a Product designer, part of the teams dedicated to the development of Studio and Studio Web (RPA software, visual programming tools, desktop and cloud-based). This experience was a part of the 2024 internship program - an opportunity I took in an effort towards becoming a better designer. I wanted to challenge myself to completely shift my perspective so that I would be able to successfully perform in an enterprise environment. And I managed to!

When I joined UiPath in the summer of 2024, I remember being quite excited about getting to act as an enterprise-focused product designer, and I was looking forward to how this experience would complement my background as a freelancer who often works on customer-focused products. I had the chance to pick up a lot of useful knowledge along the way in areas such as:

• Teamwork in an Agile environment

• The advantages of daily syncs and how they significantly affect delivery speed

• The resounding impact of the leadership on the team dynamic

• The importance of having a well-defined and well-organized framework when developing an extremely complex product, and so much more
  

my contribution

Some of the areas I have provided support on or delivered end-to-end design solutions include:

• running the heuristic evaluation of Studio

• the top-level annotation feature for Studio

• the back-to-top experience in Studio Web

• the cohesive widget experience (condition builder, filter builder, dictionary builder, collection builder, etc.) in Studio Web

• increased discoverability for various features

• workflow trigger selection screen

• creating updates for the Apollo design system dedicated to Studio Desktop

• accessible screen navigation

• research regarding the transition from the Apollo design system to a library of assets that can accommodate elements for both Studio, Studio Web and Orchestrator

• Other: the implementation of AI in UiPath’s products, the installation wizard and onboarding process in Studio, improving Studio and Studio Web icons

In addition, I volunteered for the Executive Talks series, UiPath podcast, Humans of UiPath Intern Insights blog series, and a digitalisation education program about automatisation and AI, dedicated to small and medium-sized businesses, coordinated by Ascendia, UiPath’s partner in digital education.
