what is turo?

Turo.ro, part of a 3-app ecosystem owned by KeyStay, connects property owners with travelers seeking temporary stays. Alongside KleanStay and the KeyStay Guest App, they offer a complete solution for managing private rentals, including cleaning and repairs, as well as a 24/7 virtual reception desk.

my role

I was the sole UX designer engaged in developing the ecosystem, and I was responsible for the end-to-end design process. Along with a team of incredible professionals, we were able to deliver the alpha version of the ecosystem at the beginning of 2024.

project overview

Challenge: In 2023, Turo aimed to re-enter the Romanian travel market, focusing on mid- and high-end private accommodations. As the sole UX designer, my task was to design a user-friendly platform catering to families and couples.

User Needs: Research revealed distinct user types: families that prioritized hassle-free experiences with suitable amenities, and couples that sought romantic getaways in unique settings.

Solution: I designed features like amenity filtering, child-friendly tags, pet-friendly tags, and accommodation categories. Wireframes and planned usability testing aim to refine the experience.

Impact: The project is in the feedback-gathering phase, with plans for ongoing user feedback, iteration, and feature implementation.

Learnings: This project highlighted the importance of understanding user needs and iterating based on feedback.
