what is kleanstay?
Kleanstay, a web-based mobile app, has been specifically designed to assist workers in the HoReCa industry with various tasks related to cleaning and maintaining different types of accommodations. Kleanstay is part of a trio alongside turo.ro, dedicated to private rental management, and KeyStay Guest App, a 24/7 virtual reception desk.
my role
As the sole UX designer involved in this project, I was responsible for handling every aspect of the design process from start to finish.
project overview
the challenge
Manual processes hampered cleaning coordination and efficiency for HoReCa professionals. No tools that would accommodate our client’s needs are currently available on the market.
how we solved the challenge
We created KleanStay - a mobile app that automates tasks, streamlines communication, and prioritizes cleaning based on real-time needs.
key features
real-time updates and notifications for cleaning companies and workers
automatic apartment prioritization based on check-in/out schedules.
customizable dashboards for different user roles (admin, manager, cleaner, etc.)
development process
rapid delivery: the alpha version delivered in 2 months using existing UI kit due to time constraints
user-centric design: an iterative process with wireframing, hi-fi mockups, and ongoing closed-circuit alpha testing
outcomes
increased efficiency for the client and cleaning companies
faster bug fixes and feature improvements
potential trade-offs: missed innovation opportunities, limited user feedback
a glimpse into the future
user acceptance testing, followed by a public launch
full visual revamp and continued product development
transition to a SaaS model targeting the HoReCa industry in early 2024
takeaways
Prioritizing functionality addressed client pain points quickly.
Trade-offs exist between speed and holistic product development.
Ongoing user feedback is crucial for long-term success.
